Applications for Summer 2024 are now open !!!

First time staff - those who have never worked in any capacity at Camp Pagweak or have not been on staff in the past 2 years

Returning Staff - those who have worked at Camp Pagweak either the summer of 2022 or 2023 or both.

Volunteer - those who are eager to join the team this summer at Camp Pagweak but need some experience.

 

Current Positions

Senior Cabin Leader

Lead small group discussions and nightly devotions. Lead a morning rotation (ie. rock wall climbing, drama, crafts) with Junior Cabin Leader and campers.

Lead and actively participate with your campers during program activities including being in the water during swim time.

Have overall responsibility for your campers’ health, safety, attendance at activities, and their behaviour towards others at camp.

Junior Cabin Leader

Be with and responsible for campers during morning rotations. Leading them to and from helping them during their activities which are run by the Senior Cabin Leaders (ie. rock wall climbing, crafts, drama)

Assist with small group discussions after morning worship, assist with planning campfires, assist Program Director during Tuck. 

Lead in-cabin nightly devotions once during each week. 

Lead and actively participate with your campers during program activities including being in the water during swim time.

Cook

Prepare and follow a camp menu providing for a wholesome, well-balanced diet which will be attractive to the campers.

Place food orders and check the deliveries against the invoices. (When placing an order instruct salesmen to deliver supplies to the camp.)Keep careful inventory of all food purchases and supplies throughout the camping season. Supervise the storage of food items.

Supervise the assistant cooks, providing a schedule and assigning duties and responsibilities.

Ensure the sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils, containers, cloths, towels, food storage areas, etc.

Maintain health standards according the N.S. Health requirement s.

Direct the preparation of meals, ensuring they are ready at the time arranged by the Camp Director and Program Director.

Assistant Cook

Assist in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals under the cooks supervision.

Assist the cook in maintaining a high standard of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Participate in the camp program, as responsibilities allow.

Must have a current Food Handlers Certificate.

Kitchen Assistant

Main responsibility is to be the dishwasher after all meals.

Assist in the serving and clean-up of meals and dining area under the cooks supervision.

Assist the cook in maintaining a high standard of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Participate in the camp program, as responsibilities allow.

Lifeguard

Main responsibility is to be the lifeguard during swim times and during any other waterfront activity (ie. kayaking, beach walk, sand castles).

Maintain safety supplies and rules for all waterfront activities.

Lead an activity session during our activity time.

Be willing to serve as a Senior Cabin Leader for at least 4 of the camp weeks in the summer.

Fill in for other leaders in cabin leading, activity leading, supervision as needed due to circumstances.
